Mark Duckworth to succeed David Cassidy as Chief Executive Officer of Wealth at Work
17th September 2026

Wealth at Work, a provider of workplace financial education, guidance and advice, today announces that Mark Duckworth will succeed David Cassidy as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective 1 December 2026.
Mark joins Wealth at Work with over 30 years’ experience within financial services, having previously served as CEO of Schroders Personal Wealth (SPW) and Openwork. Mark has a proven track record of organic growth acceleration in advice businesses, driving the growth of the SPW business over the past five years, culminating in £101m of profit in 2025, with over 300 advisers and 60,000 clients.
Mark will succeed David Cassidy, who has led the business since its inception in 2004. Under David’s leadership, Wealth at Work has grown to be the UK’s leading provider of workplace financial education, serving millions of employees at over 700 employers including Marks & Spencer, BT, Centrica, and the NHS, as well as advising and managing over £4.5bn of assets for individual clients with the help of over 100 employed advisers.
Having been recognised by The Sunday Times Best Places to Work for three consecutive years, Wealth at Work’s success reflects the core values shared by David and the company: a desire to improve financial wellbeing and retirement outcomes for its clients. Mark’s own passion for broadening access to advice will be a key factor in the next stage of the Wealth at work growth strategy.
Commenting on the appointment, David Gagie, Chairman of Wealth at Work, said:
“Mark is an outstanding appointment for Wealth at Work, combining deep sector expertise, a proven track record of scaling businesses, and a clear view of how technology will continue to help transform the Wealth at Work offering. The Board is grateful to David for his vision and stewardship, which leaves the business in a strong position as the need for workplace financial wellbeing, particularly at retirement, continues to grow.”
Mark Duckworth commented: “I am delighted to be joining Wealth at Work as Chief Executive Officer to build on the outstanding platform that David and the team have created. The business has a clear and important purpose, improving financial wellbeing and helping more people access high-quality financial education, guidance and advice through the workplace. With demand for trusted guidance and advice continuing to grow, Wealth at Work is exceptionally well positioned to support employers and individuals at scale. I look forward to working with the Board, the management team, colleagues and clients to continue developing the business to broaden access to financial education, guidance and advice, and deliver great outcomes for clients.”
To ensure a seamless transition, Stuart Payne, Chief Financial Officer, will serve as Interim CEO until Mark’s appointment on 1 December.
Following Mark's arrival, Stuart will assume the dual mandate of Chief Financial and Operations Officer (CFOO). In this new hybrid role, working closely with Mark and the wider leadership team, decision making should be faster and better aligned to deliver the company's growth ambitions and build on the strong foundations already in place.
